I carried my stress in my lower back most of my adult life – more stress, more pain. About 15 years ago my back went into spasms and I could barely move. I sought holistic care to avoid surgery and learned about the role food plays in heath.
Prior to that experience, I started my day with coffee and ibuprofen. If my children ate one broccoli spear I considered the meal nutritious. I knew we needed to eat more vegetables and less sugar but I didn’t know how to make that happen. Many times I put my head in the sand out of sheer frustration. There is much information and misinformation and a lot of experts and opinions, telling folks what to do but not how to do it. Yet it is simple, eat primarily fruits and vegetables and whole food; eat it as close to the earth as possible, the way God intended. Eat the way Jesus ate.
Prevention now is easier and less costly than disease later, financially, physically, and emotionally. We have to be our own health advocate. Prevention really is easy – 75% of all disease is preventable.
My four beautiful children and my elderly parents are the reason I transitioned from a corporate job to health coach. I’ve watched my father suffer with heart disease and take many prescription medications. My parents are learning to eat better food and have choices about their health. I have watched my children’s nutrition transform over the years. They are athletes with excellent health and fast recovery from workouts and injuries.
I have a desire to meet people where they are and educate them on simple, effective ways they can live healthier, happier lives. I am passionate and considerate it a moral obligation to share these life-changing tools and information with you and your family, one day at a time; one step at a time. If we keep putting one foot in front of the other and continue to move forward, we make progress and plateaus eventually come to an end. Everyone deserves to know they have choices and how to act on them.
